Local Conservatives have sought urgent clarification from the government following leaked plans.
The ‘Cambridge 2040’ plans include proposals to build 250,000 new homes across Cambridgeshire to make it ‘Europe’s Silicon Valley’.
The conceptual plans suggest development in Cambridgeshire looks set to continue – but residents, environmental sustainability and infrastructure risk being left behind.
Anthony Browne, Conservative MP for South Cambs, said: “It is simply not possible to create a rival to Silicon Valley by using Cambridge as a cash cow for housing developers.”
