Work on the Waterbeach New Town greenway has now paused, delaying its completion until 2025 – two years after residents will first move into the new town.
This is despite the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) setting the greenways as a high priority.
Cllr Heather Williams (Conservative, The Mordens) was frustrated by the delay. “I don’t want to see any more reports, I want to see the greenways themselves. We really just want to see action now,” she said.
The delay reflects overall slow progress on improving greenways across the district, hindering connectivity between South Cambs villages and the City.
